CNN RANKS HAMILTON AMONG THE
TEN SAFEST COMMUNITIES IN THE NATION
(HAMILTON) Hamilton's safer than ever,announced Mayor Glen D. Gilmore, today, July 20, 2006, in Kuser Park, and it's a testament to the vigilance and dedication of one of the finest police forces in the Nation.
Joined by Hamilton Mayor Glen D. Gilmore, Hamilton's Police Bike Patrol Team began their summer tour of duty, pedaling on patrol through Kuser Park and nearby neighborhoods, just after Mayor Gilmore officially announced that, according to a CNN report based on the FBI's Crime Reports, Hamilton Township is the tenth safest community in the United States of America.
Based on the FBI Crime Reports throughout the past seven years, CNN compiled a list of the country's top safest communities, ranking Hamilton the Nation's tenth safest community. CNN analyzed the personal risk of crime and overall property and violent crime rates to compile their rankings. Hamilton has been among the top thirty safest communities in the country for the past several years, noted Gilmore.
Mayor Gilmore also spoke about his initiative to curtail vandalism and graffiti in Hamilton announcing Hamilton?s Graffiti Prevent hotline, 581-4021, and the $250 reward that will be give to legitimate reporters.
Fighting crime and maintaining Hamilton's beauty goes hand-in-hand, said Gilmore. Illegal graffiti is not an art, and this initiative will motivate residents to help keep Hamilton Township clean and graffiti-free. We have a zero-tolerance policy.
After the announcement, Mayor Gilmore strapped on his bike helmet and patrolled Kuser Park and its surrounding neighborhoods.
